The kindergarten students in my classroom come from a community of diverse learners from many social and cultural backgrounds. Our school is an Expanded Learning Time School (ELT) and a Title I school. Many of the students in the classroom have never attended preschool. I have many English Language Learners in my classroom.
The students are bright, eager, and excited to learn.
It is exciting to see the looks on their faces when I read them a story and the passion they have to learn. Many of my students have already faced hardships in their lives.
My Project
My students will use the selections I chose for my project to complete work, create artwork, play with, and celebrate birthdays. All supplies will be used to support our basic classroom needs, and to support literacy and writing centers. The Pencils, markers, and crayons will be used for illustrating students' work.
Students need a variety of tools to use to express themselves artistically to support literacy, and items to support their social emotional learning.
Our school is an ELT (extended learning time) school, and my students are here for a long day. The students are at school from 7:45 AM to 3:25 PM. It is a very long day.
Every year, I choose the best supplies for my students to create exceptional classroom work, and to use for free play time. All of these materials will be used each day.
