My school is a lively communications and media, inner city, turn around school. All of my students receive free lunch and breakfast daily. I have an enthusiastic group of kiddos who are always asking questions and wanting to learn more. My school currently practices Restorative Justice and promotes a calm, safe and secure environment through daily social skills lessons. Our classroom focuses on the golden rule of treating others the way we would like to be treated, and always doing our best! it is important for me to provide my students with enriching experiences that compliment their learning and push them to their highest potential.
My Project
I am looking for basic classroom materials so that my students return to school this August with fresh supplies to start the year out right! Many of my students lack the access to supplies at home, so I work to provide them with materials that can go back and forth with them. Another resource that will help my students enjoy school and maximize their learning is flexible seating options! Students learn more when they are able to sit comfortably and have options for seating during independent work. The social emotional books are essential to starting the year off right! Using these books to build a classroom community that fosters kindness and acceptance is a fun way to foster relationships and positive experiences throughout the year.
