My students need 30 art boxes, 30 pairs of scissors, 30 sets of markers, each a box of crayons, 30 glue sticks and bulletin board paper to display their original works!

Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
There is nothing better than Back to School time! Crisp, autumn air, new book bags chock full of school supplies, and a new teacher waiting at the door. But sometimes, parents don't have the means, and that book bag might be last year's, and the supplies just might not be there.
My students live in the inner city in a 100 percent free lunch school district.
But they are the best kids I know. They are bright, determined, and love to learn. Our K-6 school boasts some of the best teachers around and test scores to prove it!
The students work hard and deserve to have the basics in supplies. We are talking crayons, glue, and scissors. Nothing fancy here! No extravagance, just basic supplies for school. You can help with that!
My Project
With your help, on the very first day of school, each student will receive a brand new pencil box filled with these supplies. I am requesting crayons, scissors, glue sticks, and markers. My students will use that box everyday to add whimsy and creative illustrations to their writing in Reading, Science, Social Studies and Math.
Our classroom will have bright, bulletin boards ready for them to fill up! These resources will be used down to the last drop of glue and last broken crayon! You will feel great having provided a basic necessity to a very deserving bunch of students!
This project is close to my heart.
For 12 years, I have purchased these supplies myself. I do it because the students need them. Whether they come from you or me, they will have them on the first day of school. I just know that sharing the gift of giving is just as important. You can have a share in making this school year the very best for the 30 students sitting in my class each and every day!
