Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students come from every corner of the world. They are all English Learners, and are a microcosm of our neighborhood: they speak many different languages and come from more that a dozen different countries. My students love being in school, and I want to show them they are welcome by providing them with the basic tools they need to learn.
It is so important that first day to set the tone that they are welcome and will have all the supplies they need to succeed.
Across the country, teachers are preparing their classrooms for the beginning of the school year. We are decorating billboards. We are organizing seating charts...filling drawers with scissors, pens, color pencils, sometimes bought from home because otherwise, the classroom would have none.
Please help us start the year off right with the basis we need to succeed. With your donation, we will create pencil pouches to gift our students and set up the room in a way that will hopefully ensure success!
