This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
Having basic supplies available in my classroom allows my classroom and year to run smoothly. Having a classroom set up with student access to basic hygiene items, basic classroom materials, and snacks is an important part of having a classroom that runs smoothly.
This project will impact my students by providing them with the necessities needed to keep our classroom running smoothly, as well as age-appropriate autonomy to help build our classroom culture.
By providing basic health and hygiene items such as sanitary napkins, hair ties, Kleenex, and band-aids in the self-care corner students will be able to access these items as needed with minimal classroom interruptions. Having access to basic classroom supplies such as pencils, sharpies, and glue sticks will help to build routines around the usage of these materials as well as have materials on hand for team-building, math, and literacy activities and lessons. Having access to these materials will help my students to build age-appropriate independence, and also to be prepared to complete daily lessons.
