Each week, they look forward to checking their homework folder to see the magazines inside. They cannot wait to show their families what is inside. They enjoy having a family member read to them each week. \r\n\r\nThese magazines provide different materials for them to look at and read with their families. Giving my students a real-world application for reading is the best motivator for them to learn how to read. They can see their families reading, read with their families, and eventually read parts of the magazines as well. Having a variety of topics and concepts introduced in these materials helps students build the vocabulary and background knowledge needed to support and develop future reading comprehension. \r\n\r\nI cannot thank you enough for your willingness, kindness, and generosity in giving these materials to my students. They will love them now, and the materials will still help them in the future as they build on the knowledge they gain from exposure to each publication's content.","fullyFundedDate":1750882562580,"projectUrl":"project/exciting-real-world-reading-materials/9281052/","projectTitle":"Exciting Real-world Reading Materials","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Kintscher (Ms. K)","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp2431757_orig.jpg?crop=2405,2405,x0,y56&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1570070228826","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/ms-kintscher"},{"teacherId":9447213,"projectId":9510389,"letterContent":"Thank you so much for donating to my classroom! My students and I were so excited to unravel it and see how soft and comfortable it is! We have been making great use of our new classroom rug as a gathering space, as well as a measuring item for our math curriculum. Not only does our new rug fit into our classroom perfectly, but has created a great space for our students to get together and learn. We have been using it for our morning SEL circle every day, as well as during reading, game, and learning times. All in all, it has become a central part of our classroom and we are so grateful to have received such an incredible item!","fullyFundedDate":1755732063420,"projectUrl":"project/sitting-together-learning-together/9510389/","projectTitle":"Sitting Together, Learning Together","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Penny","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp9447213_orig.jpg?crop=2540,2540,x230,y630&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1749858745794","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/9447213"},{"teacherId":10297465,"projectId":9784888,"letterContent":"The tone of the classroom has changed exponentially. The magnetic features of the whiteboards allow for students to stick their tools onto them. Additionally, these 4 whiteboards free up space on our big classroom whiteboard so that more students can work more comfortably on the vertical space.\r\nWorking on the whiteboard allows students to collaborate and bounce ideas off of each other. Recently, students were struggling to understand place value with bundles of ones, tens, and hundreds. We used the whiteboards to practice place value questions and students were able to get a better grasp on how to represent numbers with bundles.\r\nThanks to your generous donations, my students are excelling in math and collaboration! Students who were not part of the group had noise cancelling headphones on doing their assignments. This provided a safe environment that allowed for mistakes to be made and not to be fun about the mistake. It allowed them build confidence and improve their reading without others knowing. \r\n Your donation provides a learning environment and climate that is conducive to all students. All students need to feel that they validated that we care about their learning. That it is safe to learn without being judged.
