Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My Project
My students come from every corner of the world. They are all English Learners, and are a microcosm of our neighborhood: they speak over a dozen languages and come from more than 20 countries. My students love being in school, and I want to show them they are welcome by providing them with the basic tools they need to learn.
It is so important that first day to set the tone that not only are they welcome, but that I want them to have the tools to succeed.
Come September, across the country, teachers are preparing their classrooms for the beginning of the school year. We are decorating billboards. We are organizing seating charts...filling drawers with scissors, pens, color pencils, sometimes bought from home because otherwise, the classroom would have none.
Please help us start the year off right with the basic tools we need to succeed. With your donation, we will create pencil pouches to gift our students. They will be filled with pencils, pens, sharpeners, and erasers for the students to be prepared for this upcoming 2022-23 school year!
