Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is an Arts Magnet school with over 70% of our students receiving free breakfast and lunch. We pride ourselves on the fact that we have the flexibility to teach using the arts. We are able to use technology as well as other modalities to help meet the strict California standards. Many of our students come from homes where their parents are field workers and Spanish is the primary language. Many of them haven't even left the small city that they live in.
Many families will not be able to afford school supplies due to losing their jobs during the pandemic.
I would like your help to ease the stress of the families by providing my amazing third graders with what they need to start out the school year.
My Project
When my students finally get to come back to school, they may not have what they need to learn. Many families lost jobs and are struggling financially due to the pandemic. They may not be able to provide the basics for their children. This is where you can help.
I would like to provide my students with a back to school bundle of essentials.
These pencil pouches will be filled with all of the tools that they will need to help them learn effectively. These basics will help my students feel successful and help give their parents the peace of mind that they have what they need to start the year.
