Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
This year will be the first year of structured school for many of my students. I am excited to make this an amazing year that is both memorable and jump-starts their desire to be lifelong learners. My students come from an agricultural community that is predominately Spanish speaking. Much like my school's mission statement, I aim to provide a safe and nurturing environment to help my students reach their academic potential.

My students attend a school that is more than 94% socioeconomically disadvantaged and more than 77% of the students are English language learners. With this in mind, I hope to create interactive lesson plans and keep my students engaged throughout the day. My goals are to provide a supporting and enticing environment so that my students may flourish.
My students come to be excited to learn and I want to help them initiate and continue that love for learning.
My Project
The start of the school year is exciting and the smell of new supplies always makes me happy! This year I want to implement individual pencil boxes for our students to reinforce respecting our supplies. This will also help us reduce the spreading of germs since many of our students are still working on keeping things out of our mouths.
Pencils, markers, and crayons are the supplies I wish to put in their pencil boxes.
Each student will have their own supplies and be responsible to take care of these supplies. The triangular pencils are great to help my little kiddos grip the pencils while they are still working on their fine motor skills. The bulk crayons and color pencils are best for replenishing our boxes and supplies since we often use up the colors at different times. Being able to put one color and not opening up multiple boxes works best for our class.
