Your generosity has given our students the opportunity to take an active role in caring for a space that serves our entire school. Students are using the new materials to organize shelves, restore and care for books. They were especially excited to see the new repair station and happy to know that stickers as an incentive were provided specifically to support the important work they do in our library.\r\n\r\nThis project has become about much more than taking care of books. My student helpers are developing leadership, responsibility and teamwork. By learning how to properly restore books, they are also helping us keep books in circulation so that hundreds of students can continue enjoying them. The recognition items have been a wonderful way to celebrate their hard work and remind them that their contributions matter.\r\n\r\nOur next step is to continue building their skills and giving them more opportunities to become confident student leaders.
