Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

The scholars using and benefiting from these materials are a diverse group. Many coming from Manhattan and the Bronx, these kids should be exposed to people who will go above and beyond for them, starting with their teachers.

This is a wonderful group of fourth grade students learning at a Title 1 ICT class.

We want scholars to find school to be a place where they feel successful in all aspects of their learning, despite all other outside factors. . All scholars, despite the fact that they live in a low income community should be rewarded for working together, for their positive behavior, and for working hard. While the struggle these scholars face outside of school is real, we want to push it to the back of their minds for the hours they are in school.

My Project

Each item requested is one that impacts my students life on a daily basis. We are constantly writing and solving problems using our pencils. We use our notebooks throughout the day to solve various types of real world problems, while writing about reading, and to reflect on how we are feeling.

During our daily math groups, my scholars use white boards and dry erase board markers to show what they know, prove, and support how they can solve real world problems.

The materials would allow us to continue this practice as we try to reach each student in his or her own way of learning.
