My students need basic school supplies to have a successful school year. We need crayons, markers and colored pencils to express ourselves creatively and we need chart paper and whiteboard markers to learn as a group!
My students deserve the most wonderful classroom filled with a variety of resources, supplies and activities that help foster their love of learning! As a first year teacher I am struggling to provide all of the necessary materials that I know my students need. I am teaching 24 first grade students in an urban public school. The majority come from low-income families.
All of my students bring a variety of strengths and areas of need to the classroom, as well as their energy, creativity, passion and perseverance.
I hope to be the best teacher I can be for my students and therefore ask for your help!
My Project
These materials will impact the learning occurring in my classroom everyday. My students will use the different folders we are requesting to keep their writing as we explore different writing units such as small moment stories, expert/how-to books and narrative stories. We will use the crayons everyday as we express ourselves creatively and become detailed illustrators. We will use the chart paper and markers to learn as a group and from each other. We need all of these materials to have a successful school year and without your generous support I will have to buy these materials myself. All students deserve to have an amazing first grade year, which is why these basic materials are essential!
