My Project

Students are now relearning how to plan ahead and meet deadlines without relying on personal technology. While these time management skills were commonly developed before high school in past generations, today’s students have become more dependent on digital tools such as Google Calendar and Canvas, often without fully internalizing the underlying organizational strategies.

To evaluate the impact of this shift, I plan to implement a pre- and post-assessment.

The initial assessment will measure students’ calendar usage prior to the Time Management and Backwards Planning assembly. A follow-up assessment at the end of the school year will help determine whether there has been an increase in students' use of calendars at our High School.

My goal is to use this data to demonstrate that students recognize the value of organizing their assignments with physical or structured calendars. Ideally, we will also see a corresponding decrease in mental health concerns, particularly anxiety and lack of motivation, as students gain more control over their academic responsibilities.
