My Project

My students create a family at our school. We are a performing arts family (bands, choirs, strings, theater, and dance) that support each other on the stage, in the classroom, and beyond. We are a NJ high school, just outside NYC, servicing a multicultural population of students from varying socioeconomic backgrounds. We strongly believe that the arts can instill positive change, transform, inspire, and change lives.

This project is for basic supplies to help us get prepared for a great year ahead in our music classroom.

This project includes Astrobrights paper, pencils, Sharpies, and dry erase markers to help us throughout the school year. We use Astrobrights for creative student projects, classroom announcements, and posters. Pencils and dry erase markers are always in need. Silver Sharpies label everything in our classroom (music folders!)

The music program is a powerful unifier in our school. We are going to build this program over a strong foundation and proud history and generations of arts students.

Our students are very diverse and love to perform. We have performance opportunities in choir, musical theater, drama, and dance throughout the school day. We want to establish a warm, safe environment and make the kids feel at home. These tools will support our mission to spread the importance of arts education in our community, highlight our student performers, continue to build pride in their performing skills, and provide equal access to all.
