My students are incredible. I have 24 motivated English language learners who are eager to learn. My students come from low socioeconomic backgrounds with limited resources available to them. We are a Title I, Performance Improvement School with a 100% free lunch program. Many parents work two jobs and are struggling to support their families.
Though their environment may not be conducive to learning, my students have an insatiable love of learning.
I know that if we provide them with the right support, resources, and opportunities, they can experience success.
It’s cold everywhere and thankfully it’s just rain here in Southern California. My students still are catching colds, coming to school sick, and are spreading germs everywhere. These sanitizing wipes are so important during this time of year. This is a safe barrier to make sure the flu stays out of our classroom. We will wipe down our tables every other day and use the paper towels after every hand wash. We will use the sponges to clean our sink. Our school no longer supplies classrooms with paper towels so students are wiping their hands on their pants. We have spills from breakfast so we need to refill our mop. Accidents do happen so these refills are necessary.
That nasty flu is still trying to come in our class but with your help, it will stay out.
Their noses are stuffy or running so we go through Kleenex faster than our paper towels. I can’t control the weather nor their home life but I can make them feel comfortable and loved even for part of their day.
