This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I teach PE to students in grades K-5 in a multicultural school that celebrates diversity. My students enjoy running, racing, bowling, dancing, and tennis. They also enjoy reading, math, and playing foursquare, and basketball at recess. Our school is an open-concept school which means that there are no walls that separate classes from one another. Every year, we have a family multi-cultural night where families bring food and wear traditional clothes to celebrate their culture. It's a great time to celebrate the diversity at our school.
My Project
Thanks to donors, we have a lot of supplies! We have basketballs, foam basketballs, foam tennis balls, volleyballs and beach balls. These supplies will help support students who like tennis, basketball, volleyball and soccer. Small and large, we have a lot of balls for students to have fun with in the gym. The supplies I'm requesting will help us store the different balls safely and free from dust when they are not being used. We currently are using hampers for storing balls but they aren't sturdy enough for the heavy balls. The tubs will be great for storing basketballs. The clear containers would be used for storing the foam balls and other supplies when not in use and during the long summer months. These storage bins will make it easy for students to use our new basketballs!
