I am proud to call myself a lifelong Brooklynite. I'm even prouder to say that I teach Language Arts and Reading to a terrific group of 8th Graders at a Title I middle school in beautiful Brooklyn, New York. Many of my students face challenges on a daily basis that most of us cannot even dream of, yet they are always looking to the future and for a better life. They know that with hard work and determination, they can make the world a better place.
Are you an awesome woman? Do you want to be? Maybe you know one? In honor of Women's History month, I want to salute some of the awesome young ladies I know (namely our girls' basketball team) and give them some inspiration to help keep them awesome.
Young girls today are faced with challenges never before imagined, and need tools and guidance to help them navigate the difficult parts of life.
This book is a wonderful tool to refer back to for inspiration and guidance when the going gets tough. Help me to provide the tools these ladies need when they face life's obstacles, both big and small.
And remember, in the words of John Green, author extraordinaire, "Don't forget to be AWESOME!"
