My Project

My students are amazing and thriving in our autism classroom. However, we need support. Often, our classrooms are often not given the resources, materials, and support that my students need to fulfill their potential. Additionally, our class is in a district with many low-income families, who need support such as getting winter coats and food for holidays and do not have the resources to give to our classrooms.

Having access to sensory items as well as some hands-on materials in our autism classroom will enable my students to be ready to learn after taking sensory breaks and to build academic skills through hands-on learning.

These activities will help students build communication skills, and engage them in learning in a variety of ways. The laminating sheets and markers will allow us to prepare additional hands-on materials. These resources will enable me to truly meet the individual needs of students in my classroom.
