My Project

This year we are going to try two different 3 dimensional art projects. We will use the clay glaze and tools to complete one personal wire sculpture or clay container or figure. Students will glaze and fire their creations to display, then take home. Students will also create a 3 dimensional sculpture by using malleable wire.

We will study and make wire sculptures influenced by Ruth Asawa and clay sculpture inspired by Auguste Rodin.

Having the luxurious clay, glaze, and metal wire to complete these art projects will help. Our school is able to afford the basic art supplies, but anything fancy is just not in the budget. The students love creating art with mediums that are out of the ordinary.
