Awesome Art Tables to Create a Dynamic Work Space

My Students

My students are from various socio-economic, ethnic, and academic backgrounds; a multi-cultural group who sees their diversity as a strength. Despite their differences they work hard to make the best art they can and appreciate the things we have to work with on our classroom. They are risk-takers and most take advantage of the time they spend in my classroom to create art that they can share with family at home or give to a friend, and are always willing and proud to display their in the classroom or in display cases in the hallway.

My Project

I would like to transform the student work space in my art classroom with work tables that are easier to move in order to create a variety of seating arrangements for my students. The ability to change the location of the tables would create an opportunity for a more flexible work space that would optimize student learning via the physical classroom space. Changing students work spaces from groups of two or three to groups of four to six would optimize the workspace for different types of art projects and classroom activities. The tables currently installed in my classroom allow only for groups of four to six, and are prohibitive to moving around the classroom space due to their large size and heavy weight. New tables and flexibility in arranging them would be a welcome change for the student workspace in my classroom!
