My students attend a high school that includes arts in the school motto, "Academics, Athletics, and the Arts". The school's demographic is diverse and the students appreciate and celebrate that diversity. Students take my Introduction to Art class for a variety of reasons and the class is structured to meet all students needs. Students proudly display their art work in the classroom, art building hallway, and other locations on campus as well. This semester students told me how much they enjoyed the relief block printing process and were curious about other printmaking processes, as well as different techniques for working with color, so the monotype printmaking project would be a great fit for a new art project in the curriculum.
