I am on a mission to make my third year of teaching in a low-income (Title I) school the very best yet! Title I means that a lot of my students come to school without the materials/tools they need to succeed. We also have a large population of Spanish speaking students learning English as a second language. I love that all of my students are unique and come from such diverse backgrounds. I am determined to dedicate my time to ensuring that my students get the best quality education each and every day. This means getting 100% of me, their learning environment, and of their learning materials. My little kiddos have big ideas and even bigger hearts and I couldn’t be more blessed to be called their teacher.
My Project
As a 1st grade teacher, I find having a colorful and inviting classroom to learn in very important! The Round Fluffy Soft Area Rug for Kids and Rainbow Felt Fabric Pennant Banners help to create a fun, colorful, and inviting classroom for my students and myself to learn and grow in.
The School Specialty Mobile Multi-Purpose Easel is an amazing tool to add to my classroom as the use of whiteboards is almost a daily activity in my classroom being a reading and language teacher!
This large, mobile whiteboard will allow my students to come to the front of the room for activities and answering questions, give me an area to hold our big book during read alouds, and give me a writing and display area for our anchor charts!
The bilingual flash cards, decoding flash cards, and scissors will be important tools for more direct instruction with my students who need more one on one instruction. The bilingual flash cards will help my EL students who are still learning the basics of English as they show both the Spanish and English translation. As a reading teaching, the deciding flash cards will help my 1st grades with their decoding, segmenting, and chunking skills! Lastly, the scissors will help with hands on instruction!
