Right now my classroom does not have a working printer. To get my classroom ready I had to bring my personal printer from home and use my own ink to ensure my classroom was bright, colorful, and fun for my students orientation. My classrooms theme is chalkboard and bright colors, so everything is neon colors that pop! Needless to say, school hasn't even started yet and I have spent lots of time and money ensuring my students have a "home away from home" in my classroom. My students need a reliable color printer that will show the world what they are capable of. Being my subject is Science & Social Studies, I want to be able to print out my students' projects and work to hangout in the hallway for the whole learning community to enjoy. I also will be printing weekly newsletters for the students to bring home. As everyone knows, students are in a rush to get home after spending 7+ hours at school. Printing on boring white paper in black and white does not grab anyone's attention and will easily get lost with all their work. Having colored paper and a color printer will help their newsletters stand out and not get lost. My room comes with a Promethean Board but not a document camera attachment to use. With this tool I can show off students work to the entire class, shows examples of how work should be done, and more for the entire class to see and not have to worry about if my students in the back of the classroom can see.
