Ms. Brown from Dorchester MA is requesting classroom basics through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
See what Ms. Brown is requestingMy students need math and literacy composition notebooks to keep all of their learning organized, sequenced, and in one place. Thereafter, we'll celebrate all that we've learned with an "Scholars of Excellence Awards" Party.

My sweet sweet students are the reason that I've decided to not retire as a teacher. They are amazing! They are tenacious! They are hardworking, and most importantly they enjoy learning as much as I do teaching. They are from your typical urban neighborhood with loving families.
Our classroom is a great nest of care, love, and excitement for learning as is our school culture.
In total, I have 17 countries represented in a class of 21 students. Our favorite thing to do includes turning our learning into mini hands-on projects. (Hence, our cover photo depicts a post-learning snack of our study of Garrett Morgan, who invented the traffic light.) We're a fun learning group who enjoy each day of learning.
We'll be so happy to share pics with all of our donors showing the engagement our students in learning independently and with one another using their new notebooks! We're looking forward to brainstorming, equitably debating, laughing, competing, productively struggling and so much more, while capturing much of that on paper.
Opportunities to celebrate learning is almost rare in school settings these days.
We are excited to invite families and staff to our classroom to celebrate students who have made tremendous gains since the beginning of the year with your donation of our awards and seals making the awards more official looking.
Please support our growing sense of community. Many of my students have become more engaged in sharing and participating in class as we've become more comfortable with sharing ideas by fostering a culture of whole group engagement. Your donation will continue to foster this positive development in our children.
