Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

We have launched a school-wide initiative to focus on AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) skills and strategies. These strategies are known as WICOR (Writing Inquiry Collaboration Organization and Reading). Our students have been setting goals around these strategies, and organization seems to be an essential key to their success.

These binders and supplies will give the students what they need to start 2025 off on solid organizational footing.

We know organization can be a key component to academic success. Many of our students do not know exactly how to get and stay organized, or where to keep their important papers and essential supplies for home. This is where the binders and pencil pouches come in handy. We can put our planner/agenda in the binders and teach the children how to maintain organization at school and home. I am excited about giving our 5th graders a leap into the new year!
