These books will be used for small group reading instruction to enhance my students' reading experiences and language development. There are many levels within my class and varied interests I want to support. Students meet in small groups, practicing reading and language skills and strategies while leading their own discussions. They find it exciting and ask to meet with their groups often. The books peak reading interest and support individual reading levels leading to increased motivation across curricular areas. Number the Stars is a book we will read as a class to model reading strategies used in their groups, as well as supporting the Social Studies curriculum.
