Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

AVID is a program for students who want to make something of themselves. Often times these students are ones that typically get overlooked for big recognitions. This project will be twofold. One, students will work collaboratively to build community and teamwork through regular games of kickball. Through this activity they will be able to work as a team and build each other up. The second purpose of this activity is to shout out those that do not typically get shout outs. Every few weeks an AVID student will be chosen to be shouted out publicly, will get a certificate, a phone call home, and a mug or water bottle. These awards will help affirm students that are trying hard to do their best.
