This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
I am teaching my students the basics of coding and mechanical engineering. Students will work in groups building and navigate their robots through a series of mazes. Through these challenges, students will learn how to work in groups, how to solve problems, and how to code.
The parts listed will continue to support our robot program at our school.
Using the engineering design process to design, build, and test, prototype robots.
Providing my students with authentic STEM learning experiences will give them opportunities to develop 21st-century skills, establish a growth mindset, and empower them to overcome any obstacles standing in their way and accomplish their goals and dreams.
It is so important for my students to see that STEM careers are a viable option. It is critical that I instill confidence and stress the reality that STEM careers are achievable for everyone, including women and minorities.
Helping fulfill this project will allow students to see firsthand THEY TOO can have the skills (science, technology, math, and art) to have exciting careers in the STEM field. Your donations will allow girls to explore, create, build, or research anything they are passionate about. Further, the project will give my female students the ability to pursue STEM careers and helps narrow the gender and racial gap.
