This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Every child can learn and grow. Our special needs preschoolers are growing up and becoming successful big kids. They're almost ready to go to kindergarten! Preschool is such an exciting time where children learn basic skills like singing ABCs, as well as developing their own personalities. You can see who is going to be shy and who is going to be the class clown.

Preschool is a child's first educational experience!

Preschoolers have such excitement to show people what they've learned and mastered. Play-Doh becomes ice cream and empty tissue boxes become blocks.

My Project

This project is for sensory items to help calm the students. When they are calm they can learn. This is a major hurdle in our class. Since children with autism always have a lot of sensory needs, we need to give them sensory input.

By using sensory items during circle time it allows the children to learn better.

It is very hard for them to sit still. Having a small item in their hands helps them sit and pay attention better. These items will help. I want to keep a basket by my side while I teach to reach into and give and object to a child.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
