This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students on the autism spectrum, require some extra support to help them meet their needs and style of learning, this includes flexible sitting. Flexible seating can help students with autism by providing options for where and how to sit, which can help them learn in a way that works best for them. Flexible seating can also help with sensory needs, improve focus, and reduce disruptive behaviors.

My students with autism struggle with sensory overload or sensory-seeking behaviors and flexible seating options like these ball chairs can help regulate their sensory input.

In addition to helping meet the sensory needs of my students, moving around and changing positions can help my students focus and concentrate by keeping their brains engaged. These ball chairs, can also help reduce fidgeting that can cause other disruptive behaviors.
