Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I am requesting new flexible seating for my 2nd-grade students. The requested chairs will also give students a break from sitting on hard chairs with no padding or cushioning. This will help with posture and relieve the pain of sitting in the same place all day.

Students are always excited to come sit on "The Author's Chair" when they will be sharing a writing piece or speaking to their peers.

Each chair will be designated to a specific area for small group instruction and students will be assigned leadership roles when sitting on a specified chair.

It is amazing how students demonstrate a sense of responsibility when they have access to something out of the ordinary.

My students are at a school that will be 100 years old this year. Very few upgrades have been made to our classroom furniture. Bringing in these chairs will add to the environment and will make it inviting as well as give it an at home feel.
