My students couldn't wait to open the boxes and explore everything inside. Their eyes lit up when they saw the insect models, books, and magnifiers, and almost instantly they began asking questions and sharing what they already knew about bugs. \r\n\r\nWe are using these materials in our current science unit, where students observe, compare, and write about the features of different insects. During one lesson, students used magnifiers to look at insect body parts and then sketched detailed diagrams in their science journals. The models and books are helping them connect vocabulary like \"thorax\" and \"antennae\" to real-life visuals, making abstract concepts concrete. \r\n\r\nThese resources have turned what could have been a simple science lesson into an interactive, hands-on adventure. Thanks to your support, my students now see themselves as scientists, explorers, and problem-solvers.","fullyFundedDate":1750611513033,"projectUrl":"project/insects-everywhere/9117242/","projectTitle":"Insects Everywhere!","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Torres","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://storage.donorschoose.net/dc_prod/images/teacher/profile/orig/tp541844_orig.jpg?crop=1:1,smart&width=272&height=272&fit=bounds&auto=webp&t=1587740513935","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/541844"},{"teacherId":541844,"projectId":8459108,"letterContent":"We are using the new resources in a variety of ways, from hands-on activities to small group math. The students were able to use the resources to set up and carry out the subtraction steps, then compared their approach with that of their partners and evaluated the different ways they can arrived at the same answers. They were truly engaged and excited to used the math resources to solve problems with each other.\r\n\r\nWhen the students first saw the new materials, their reactions were filled with excitement and curiosity. They immediately started asking to use them in their math learning, and were eager to dive in and start.\r\n\r\nWith the new resources, we are planning to expand our study by using them in the next math units with regrouping.
