My Students

My students are first, second, and third year French as a Second Language Learners. We live in a rural suburb of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, and many of us have Cajun French speaking family members.

Authentic reading materials in French are expensive and often difficult to locate in an appropriate reading level for beginners.

Our 7th and 8th grade students are thrilled and challenged by the opportunity to earn high school French credit!

We love to learn about the Francophone culture of our home, as well as the culture of Francophone places around the world! We incorporate culture, grammar, and speaking into our daily lessons.

My Project

These materials will be used daily with my French students, both in the elective and high school French classes. TpT resources are catered specifically to the level and grade of the students. Teachers can search for grammar or vocabulary topics quickly and easily. Teachers Pay Teachers has a vast array of authentic materials in French, especially in the areas of speaking, listening, and reading comprehension. Often, the creators of the materials are French teachers and native speakers. Also, TpT activities are always "classroom tested" and specifically aligned with the ACTFL standards.
