Our school is a Title I school and over 50% of our students receive free and reduced lunches. We are a community of cultural diversity. Some of my students will be the first in their family to graduate high school. My students are full of curiosity and hope . They work hard to do their best, even in this age of Distance Learning. They are some of the most humble, honest, and brilliant people I know.
I try to create a healthy learning environment in my physical classroom and in my online classroom...one that inspires my students to be themselves and to know they are safe.
They persevere through any adversity because they want to make a difference for themselves and the world. I am very proud to be their teacher.
My Project
The Performing Arts in the age of distance learning have taken on new meaning with emphasis on the audio over the visual. Never before has Radio Drama had such a resurgence in the world of theatre. This revitalization has allowed my students to truly develop their vocal skills.
Our voices have become the new spectacle of Theatre!
Using their voices to inspire imagination in the minds of our audiences, has cultivated a new hope for our young artists. In this time of uncertainty and disappointment, Voice Acting has given promise and joy that Theatre is alive and well. However, all the voice training in the world will not transcend without proper equipment.
The USB microphones I seek to procure will even out the sound between the various computers and chromebooks my students use. The USB mics will help to decrease the echos and "tin can" sound that comes from most computer mics. Having all students using the same kind of microphone will also drastically decrease the lag time we currently experience.
