My Students

Please put learning materials at our fingertips! My Kindergarten students sit at tables and need a well organized system to store ongoing writing, poetry journals, ABC journals and math folders. Having this storage system would facilitate learning and save valuable classroom space.

My five and six year old students are inquisitive, energetic and bright.

They come to me from a unique blend of parents from around Maine, the United States and countries on the other side of the world. While the children's backgrounds vary, they work together and make our classroom a great community. Our public school is located in an urban setting, is bursting at the seams and experiencing shortages in funding.

My Project

The children work best when procedures are clear and materials are organized. 5 and 6 year olds can become discouraged and disengaged when they can't find their work folders. The storage system I'm requesting would allow each child his/her own bin to store ongoing work. The cart which holds the storage bins would fit perfectly in a corner of my classroom and eliminate the need to store materials on the window shelf. I am a looping Kindergarten/First grade teacher and the storage system would also be valuable next year. First graders learn to read from a variety of "little books." In first grade the children will have desks and I will need an organized spot to store leveled reading materials to teach reading to the children. The storage cart I am requesting will always have a purpose in my classroom.

My students deserve having their time at school be as organized and predictable as possible.

It would mean the world to them and me if you would donate to this valuable storage system. While this is a necessary item for my classroom, my school does not in anyway have the resources to purchase it. Thank you in advance if you are able to donate to this project.
