Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

I am a 4th grade teacher in a low socio-economic school with a diverse group of students.

Approximately half of my students are failing in math and I am trying to find a variety of ways to reach them. These students all have something in common. They are easily distracted and I have trouble keeping them focused.

I chose this math game library because there are 16 different games covering many of my curriculum standards such as time & money, problem solving & geometry, number sense & operations, fractions & place value and estimation & measurement. What I particularly like about this math library is that a student can work with others or independently. It is sometimes necessary to have certain students work on their own.

Math is so important. It is something that we use everyday and most of us take for granted. I want each of my students to be successful, but also understand that we all learn differently, so I want to be able to offer each of my students the opportunity to learn their way. This math games library will definitely help my more hands on learners. Thank you.
