Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach at a Title I school where the majority of my students come from low-income families. For most of them, the highlight of their day is coming to school, where they get to use supplies and equipment that they normally would not have access to while interacting with their peers.
We have a very diverse classroom and my goal is to help every student become successful no matter what level they are on.
With this school year looking very different I am wanting to make sure that my students have the supplies that they need if they are needing to learn from home.
My Project
During this COVID school year we have to be prepared to switch to online learning at a moments notice. Having the ability to safely send Chromebooks home would be ideal. We have been sending Chrome books home with out cases and many of them come back broken which causes the school and/or district to spend more money on ordering more.
Being able to provide much needed supplies and experiences for my students who have to learn from home is very important.
Having the ability to purchase literacy and math digital materials from teachers pay teachers that have already been created saves me time and also gives my students a fun and engaging learning opportunity.
