Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

I work at a Title I school in a low socioeconomic area, and 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. For some of our kids, these are the only two meals they have in a day.

Although some of my kids face many challenges, they are always eager to learn.

We have some military families in our school as well. Our school is located in a border city, and a few of my students moved here from Mexico and are English language learners. I'm always looking for innovative ways to teach my kids and encourage them to love school and learning.

My Project

My students need Astrobright paper and file folders for our class projects and for organization. I like to use bright cardstock to print anchor charts or for visuals in the classroom. By using colored paper I use less colored ink and if I print in black it looks brighter.

The folders are to organize their work and activities.

I like the Astrobright paper because it includes more than just the primary colors. It really adds a nice and bright look to the classroom and makes all of our posters and visuals pop.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
