Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Many students in my classroom struggle to both look down at their paper and write on a flatten surface due to the angle that their necks and wrists have to bend to. These boards assistive students in overcoming those obstacles as it props their work up to an easily accessible angle. For my students with attention deficits it is extremely beneficial for them to have their work in their line of sight. Not only does this give students accessibility to their work but it also helps with production levels. This assists teachers in collecting more accurate data on their abilities as they are truly able to show what they know.

Students who struggle with fine motor deficits need both specialized and explicit tools and strategies to overcome these struggles.

Slant boards aid students in overcoming these struggles as they provide student work at an angle that puts less stress on the students wrist. The positioning of the board additionally gives students a clear view of their writing strokes meaning they can be more aware of how they are doing. These boards will help our students significantly.
