Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Asian American and Pacific Islander Heritage Month is in May. I've created this project early in the hopes that it will be fulfilled and we can get these books processed and in student's hands by the time May is here.

Our school has 75 students/500 who identify as Asian American or Pacific Islander, but the library has fewer than 100 books written by or with a main character who is Asian American and Pacific Islander.

To make matters worse, the average copyright date of those 100 books is 2000.

Our students need books in the collection that reflect their lives, their friends lives, and our current time.
