Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are a public magnet middle school with the majority of our students living in poverty. We are a multicultural school with happy students who enjoy participating in our many hands-on lessons. We focus on the whole child at our school and we have seen great benefits from this approach.
My students will benefit from these materials allowing them to film, as pairs , using the tablets to record their videos with fellow student actors or interviews for their documentaries.
Our students apply to attend our STEAM school to participate in our unique career and college ready activities. Connecting our students' learning to their creative minds is a key component in their success.
My Project
The students have written they scripts and completed their storyboards, so they now need 4 Fire Tablets with screen and case protectors, along with SD Cards. These will be used by pairs of students to film their team's documentary or blockbuster movie. The SD Cards will hold the video footage and be transported to the student's computers to be edited by the students and create their visions.
The filming schedules will be displayed on the poster sized post-it not pad, along with the location of the tablets used in the filming production.
We also need a post- it poster size pad to post the filming schedules for the week and to know where the equipment is located.
