My Students

In beautiful rural Maine I have fourteen 7th and 8th grade students. Their well rounded interests include art, athletics, hunting, fishing, language arts, math, and music. They are a great high energy and hardworking group of kids.

Once a week in my music class they work on their music listening skills as well as reading music.

They explore music history, and learn to perform as a group. My students enjoy learning about the wide world of music in a small town.

My Project

I am asking for a set of handbells for my music students to use in their annual Winter Concert. We borrowed a set of handbells from a local church for the concert last year. The performance was a great success! We would like to continue the tradition but now we need our own set of handbells.

With these bells, students will be able to have the experience of playing in a large ensemble, working together for a performance, and responding to a conductor.

Not only will they have this experience, but they will also use the bells to practice reading music on the staff and explore the rich repertoire of Christmas music. Students will be able to participate in the timeless tradition of the bell choir.
