Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
At our school, every student matters and every moment counts! I teach at a Title 1 school in Greenville, South Carolina. My students face many challenges both in and out of the classroom daily. However, this does not stop them from coming to school each day excited to learn! My students have diverse backgrounds and diverse educational needs. They deserve the best education I can give them. With your help I can provide them with a memorable and life changing education. I am looking to empower my students to grow educationally and socially. It's Donors like you, who make it possible for me to give so much to my students. They deserve it all, and so much more!

My Project
Science is such a fun and explorative subject to teach in elementary school! I need more materials and books to enhance my science lessons and engage my students!
My students LOVE science experiments!
I love teaching lessons where my students are experimenting and discovering for themselves. I need more materials for my weather and magnet units.
I always teach my students about different weather tools and show them pictures. However, I would love for my students to see how the wind vane measures the direction of the wind by using a real wind vane! In addition to a wine vane, I am also requesting a class set of thermometers, an anemometer, and a rain gauge. It is often very difficult for my students to identify these weather tools, because many of them have never seen them! I want my students to not only see these weather tools, but I also want them to see these tools in action measuring the weather!
In addition, I want to be able to expose my students to different types of magnets and how they are used. I don't want to show them pictures of these materials, I want them to touch them and use them! I am requestion a horseshoe magnet to show them different shaped magnets. Students will use this magnet to explore magnetic materials in our classroom!
I am also requesting books that align to the science units I teach. In addition to weather and magnets, I also teach my students about gravity, matter and animals! I want to engage my students with good books that will connect to our lessons. My students love to read about science! With your help I’ll be able to provide my students with high interest science books!
