Arts to Help Students Grow

My Students

Our school is a Title I school focused on the arts. We have a large population of students who qualify for the Free or Reduced Lunch program. 67% of our students benefit from the Free and Reduced lunch program.

Our student body is full of wonderful kids who struggle to stay focused due to gaps in learning because of COVID, issues at home, and school.

COVID has really set many students back, and our students need support to recognize how they are growing and to best accomplish what they need to be successful.

My Project

We are an elementary school that is focused on the arts. Arts helps to build confidence and problem solving skills in students. Being a Title I school and that being compounded by the setbacks that COVID has created, our students are struggling to see the great things they are accomplishing.

I would like to give students the opportunity to continue their arts education at home by providing supplies and instruments that they can earn through our school store.

Earning points to purchase these supplies will help the students to value the supplies and instruments. It will also help their understanding of an economy and promote a desire to grow and learn.
