My students need art supplies like paint, Playdoh and craft sticks. These supplies will help encourage students in creativity, visual learning, focus, decision making, perseverance, collaboration, and they will promote confidence.

My Students
I teach Pre-K at an Early Childhood School in Texas. My class is a blended class consisting of at-risk students based on income, English is their second language, or they have special needs. My students are faced with many challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the challenges they face, I am looking to provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.
My students are creative, energetic and always ready to experience something new!
They love to move, read, and learn! Many of them are being raised in single parent households, and ALL of my students receive a free breakfast/lunch based on their socioeconomic status. These things may prevent them from getting ahead early in life and may not provide them with the life experiences many of us see as "typical." From the minute they walk in the door of my classroom I focus on their potential and growth while they are with me. I may not be able to control their home lives, however I can certainly control their experience during the school day. My goal is to inspire even our earliest students to become lifelong learners!
My Project
I am requesting resources to encourage Art in the classroom. Art is so important for young children.
Art encourages creativity, motor skills, confidence, visual learning, decision making, perseverance, focus, collaboration, accountability and improved academic performance.
The paint, Playdoh, craft sticks and other resources will be used by students so they can express their own ideas in their own creative way. The more chances a student gets to practice thinking creatively, the easier it will come in the future. It is important to nurture this creativity and provide opportunities daily for our young students to express themselves in as many ways as possible.
