My Project

I teach an Arts and Crafts class for students with extreme special needs. They come to me each day with a one-on-one paraprofessional to assist them. Oftentimes, the regular art room supplies are too advanced or too difficult for them to use, so we focus on more craft-related items. These students have a wide range of disabilities raging form autism on different levels of the spectrum, cerebral palsy, cognitive disabilities, Down Syndrome, etc. By supplying my classroom with more craft-based supplies, students are able to explore and create with a wide range of media and supplies that are more geared to their level of abilities. My goal for the 2026-27 school year is to have a wide variety of projects and crafts that not only meet students' individual goals but also their individual preferences.
