This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
This year will be my 10th year teaching kindergarten at our school! Every year I get wonderful students and wonderful parents, I am so blessed!
My school is an inner-city public school and while we have some basic supplies given to us, all the "fun stuff", the extras, the things that make learning exciting for the students, are bought with money I contribute to the classroom.
Every student in our school receives free breakfast and lunch daily. Many students come from single-parent households. Some students have had preschool experience, while a lot of them have not.
Being that my students are young they love to learn through hands-on experiences and creative learning. They love to work with and share ideas with, their friends in the class. My students are funny, loving, emotional, full of energy, and excited to learn!
My Project
Many times in math, science, and social studies we like to culminate a unit by doing an open-ended project. These art supplies will offer many choices for the students to demonstrate what they have learned in my classes in a fun, hands-on, creative way!
It seems we are always low on consumable items, having this project funded would mean that we could do some unique and exciting projects throughout the rest of this year.
The students helped me decide what to order based on some of the things they would like to create! Thank you in advance for your support!
