My students from St. Paul are part of an urban public Montessori School. In our classroom, we have students in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd grade. At our Montessori school, we believe in following the child and their individual needs. Students are welcome to make their own work choices throughout the day as they work alongside their classmates.
Creating art in our classroom will help students express their ideas, feelings, and creativity through art.
My students love to use their imagination and work hard to create beautiful works of art.
My Project
Art is an outlet for children to express their creativity, feelings, and imagination. My school does not provide students with an opportunity to have an art class. Because of this, I decided to create a space in my classroom for students to express their artistic side.
The materials asked for will allow children to explore art in various forms.
In my classroom students are given opportunities to incorporate art into their daily routine as well as with their daily work. I plan to teach whole-group art lessons weekly, therefore I need enough art supplies for 27 students at the same time. I have asked for paintbrushes with grips to support fine-motor, tempera paint cakes, paint daubers, stencils, and oil pastels. Please help support these young artists!
