Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Students in my third-grade class begin school with varied abilities. Math and reading can be challenging to an average student and may seem impossible to a student functioning below grade level. Good attendance and positive attitudes are rewarded and students strive to be AVID leaders of our school. Our school community is supportive and fosters a loving environment. My students are hard workers and strive for excellence!
The more that you read, the more things you will know, the more you learn, the more places you'll go.
-Dr. Seuss
My students are hard working third graders, with a powerful drive to succeed. They have varied abilities and need different levels of support to achieve their goals. My school has an enrollment of 671 students from K through sixth grade. We have a diverse population with a large percentage of English language learners and special education students. The majority of our students are from low socioeconomic backgrounds.
My Project
My students would benefit greatly from new art supplies. Construction paper and colored pencils give them the opportunity to create works of art. The storage cart and paper holder would provide a safe place to store their materials.
Encouragement and praise provide students with great support that builds self esteem.
Teacher stamps provide immediate feedback for students in a timely fashion. Students look for feedback to see how well they understand the material and what improvements could be made. Stamping simple messages on student work gives a fast and easy way to grade a stack of papers and give students the feedback they deserve. Files and file folders are a great way to separate and store student work for comparison over the year.
