My Students

We are a neighborhood school in Concord, CA. The students come from diverse ethnic and sociology-economic backgrounds. They come to school eager to learn and I strive to provide my students with creative and meaningful learning experiences.

From the minute my students walk in the door of my classroom I focus on their potential and growth while they are with me.

I may not be able to control their home lives, however, I can certainly control their experience during the school day. By doing this in a creative and positive way, I am hoping to inspire even our earliest learners to continue on a path of academic excellence.

My Project

Returning to the classroom after COVID has created a unique situation where it takes a lot creativity to keep students engaged again in in-person learning. Art inspires learning and engages students in their studies in a way that little else can. My students come from broad cultural and ethnic backgrounds.

I aim to teach my students about a variety of artists with backgrounds as varied as their own.

In addition to learning about multiple artists, my students will also learn about different types and styles of art, such as water color.
